This address is the sending address of the Radio Relay International’s SMS Gateway which relays messages to cellular users as a SMS text message from licensed FCC amateur radio operators. The messaging system is intended for health and welfare to notify victim’s loved ones under the program “I AM SAFE.”
The messages are one-way, you can not reply to the sending station directly through this service.
Amateur radio operators may use the system for testing and exercises. Logs are kept of all relays.
The system takes the originators message and looks up who their cell phone provider is, it then relays it to that cellular networks email-to-SMS (public) gateway.
