what.three.words
What Three Words is a commercial tool used in emcomm for translating GPS coordinates into three words. The service is not accessible unless you can connect to the service, or in other words, there is no offline use. RRI’s gateway allows you to query this service by sending a radio message.
Send a message to “w3w@radiorelay.org” with the subject of either the three words or a location in decimal degrees. The system will return the result as a message.
Format for words is “what.three.words” in the subject of the radio message. No quotes or spaces.
Format for GPS coordinates is in decimal degrees separated with a coma. Example “38.5567, -121.7932” (again no quotes, and a space to separate fields)
Only licensed Winlink users are authorized to use the system.
